The Rapid Equipping Force (REF) is a unique Army organization initiated by the VCSA to try to get creative solutions to the battlefield faster than the normal Army process... which would take forever. REF has development labs in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and it was in both of these labs that many of the solutions on this website (and many, MANY more) were developed.
